Soutine Bakery has been in the Upper West Side of Manhattan for over 20 years and hubs and I tried it out after watching Star Trek (for only 6 bucks a pop at the Loews Lincoln Center before noon:mini tip for you!). It’s a charming tiny place with an ice cream cart up front marked Soutine, if it weren’t for that, you could walked past it, we almost did.

The Bakery is tiny and cozy and they also serve sandwiches and coffee, we bought a Brownie, a Cherry Crumb Cake and a Caramel frosting cupcake and walked to a sunny bench in Central Park, so we could take nice picture for y’all.
Sadly the cupcake was (sorry, I have to be honest) awful, the cake was dry and a little stale and the frosting was like biting into Butter that had no taste of Caramel at all, I guess they just put them out because of the trend or I was really unlucky and got a really bad one.
The Cherry Crumb Cake, however, was yummy! The crumb was so good, the cherries in the bottom were moist and the different tastes blended beautifully! The Brownie was also a hit, fudgy, chocolatey(sp?) and delicious.
Later, I found out they have great tarts and cookies as well, which I’ll have to go back to try, if you find yourself in the neighborhood make sure to stop by, just don’t get the cupcake (or do so at your own risk, I’d love to hear that I was just unlucky!)
ps: Their website breaks my little webdesigner heart.
