I’ve been on a Chai kick lately and it was only a matter of time before I decided to bake with it! On a side note, my posts have been somewhat verbose lately, so this one will be short and sweet, pinky promise.
The recipe for the cupcakes is from All recipes (I love that they recalculate the ingredients for you!), they came out incredibly tasty but the texture was very mushy moist and dense, it reminded me a lot of Brazilian Honey Bread, so much so that next time I might cover them in Semi-Sweet Chocolate. For this batch, however, I opted to try out Spork or Foon’s Honey Ginger Cream, which is very tasty!

The hearts atop these cakes showed up simply because the Cream is the perfect texture for that kind of decoration, I couldn’t resist!
Delicious!! Those look so good, I will have to give this recipe a shot! And the little heart is precious.
Keep the mushiness in mind, but also they were sooooo yummy!
Adorable! I love the heart on top. Chai is amazing. I made an incredible chai custard a while back, if you like chai you HAVE to try it. http://verysmallanna.com/2009/04/teacup-full-of-tastiness/ I want to make it again right now just thinking about it.
That custard look awesome!!!

Thank you!
Mmm, these chai cupcakes look amazing. I’m a huge fan of chai, too, so I’m so glad to see that you worked that flavor into your baked goods. AMAZING. I can’t wait to try these out.
Mmmmmm! I want it!!
And they look lovely!!
How did you make the tiny hearts?
I used Cake writing Gel, the kind sold at the supermarket. I squeezed out a little circle and then ran the tip of a knife through it, I love doing that, so simple and cute!
