My first post on my Brazilian Favorites had to be Sonhos (dreams in English), any decent bakery makes them and they’re by far my favorites.
They’re not much different than doughnuts, at a closer inspection, so much so that as I did some quick research for this post and your’s truly found out that her favorite Brazilian confection is none other than a Berliner with a French Pastry Cream filling instead of jam!
OK, so sometimes it’s also filled with a Guava Paste (Goiabada), finally something truly Brazilian. Or so I thought! Again, Wikipedia?!? Goiabada is eaten in all Portuguese speaking countries AND the Caribbean!
No matter where these babies really come from, they’re little pieces of fried dough heaven!
Edit: After writing this post it hit me that I should have posted a recipe, even if I had to translate one. Turns out I found one that is the exact same recipe used here in a German recipe website. Enjoy!
Now I’m hungry and I want some of these little tasty pastries!
They’re wonderful I should probably post a recipe!
