Let’s go! Amazing fluffy cake? Check. Tasty not to sweet Frosting? Check! They stay true to their cupcakes for grown-ups approach! My little piece of heaven was Chocolate with Raspberry frosting, husband had the Banana cake with Coconut frosting, and while I didn’t try the Coconut frosting (Coconut is my nemesis), the banana cake was amazing!
I had brought the Raspberry chocolate cupcake home to take a picture for you guys, an action that sold me out to the cool lady behind the counter who asked me: “Are you a cupcake blogger?” She found me out, peeps! She then told me that all their ingredient are organic and showed me her awesome cupcake tattoo. Anyways, the cupcake took a thrashing on the F train, so the picture would not have done it justice.
So, dear readers, I will suggest you checkout the great pics Cupcakes Take the Cake posted or the one posted by the also awesome Blondie and Brownie, this weeks “go here” was spur of the moment and I apologize for having no camera with me. It did however raise the bar for my cupcake reviews so high, I’m think of revisiting the previous ones.

Wegman’s Cupcakes you say? I found myself in Somerset,NJ this weekend visiting my awesome Jersey peeps, yelped the area for bakeries and found only one that was promising but it had the oddest hours… One review (on a bad bakery) mentioned Wegman’s as a much better option for baked goods. So when my friend texted me asking if I needed anything from Wegman’s, I quickly replied “yea, cupcakes! please.”
Those pretty cupcakes above are what I found on her counter top waiting for me! Don’t they look great?
The one with the Raspberry atop was, of course, Raspberry buttercream with Chocolate cake, a classic winning combination. The buttercream must have had a good amount of puree in it because it tasted amazing and so fresh, the chocolate cake was moist and good.
The Lemon cupcake, while incredibly cute wasn’t as amazing as it’s berry counterpart, the Lemon in the buttercream was very faint so the butter taste was somewhat overwhelming, the vanilla cake under it, however, was fresh and tasty.
Based on other supermarket cupcakes I’ve had before, these aren’t even in the same category and honestly these were better then some cupcakes I’ve had here in New York. Have you ever had cupcakes from Wegman’s? What did you think?

Soutine Bakery has been in the Upper West Side of Manhattan for over 20 years and hubs and I tried it out after watching Star Trek (for only 6 bucks a pop at the Loews Lincoln Center before noon:mini tip for you!). It’s a charming tiny place with an ice cream cart up front marked Soutine, if it weren’t for that, you could walked past it, we almost did.

Aaaaaaaah Baked… I have mentioned a few times I’ve had an e-crush on Baked. So, being that Baked is very close to Ikea, where I had to go this past weekend anyways, this week’s “Go Here” was obvious (not to mention exciting!). Sounds like a plan doesn’t it? Except I was still sore (very sore and did I mention cranky?) from unloading boxes off of trucks and carrying stuff up and down stairs ergo (ergo!) perusing Pax wardrobes and Malm headboards had quickly turned into a tragic affair.
In comes my knight in shiny armor (otherwise known as my husband), and suggests , I should sit still by the water that he would get some cupcakes for us to enjoy. He might have just wanted to get the hell away from me, but it still was a very nice gesture.
