Tree Pedestal Cake Stand- a DIY project from Once Wed

By Ms. Cherryspoon | May 6, 2009

Once Wed’s author has realized that “after blogging for a little over a year how much sucker I am for anything rustic.” I haven’t been blogging that long but the same applies to me, this Tree Pedestal Cake is not only incredibly affordable (less than 10 bucks!) it’s end product is undeniably beautiful.

What do you think?

Today Lost’s 100th episode will air! It seems VERY promising, since it’s called “The Variable”, and “The Constant” was one of their best episode’s in the whole series.

What better occasion to post this great cake, that brings together two of my favorite shows! All we need now is Admiral Adama cutting the cake and we’re done! This happened way back when in February, so it had made the Internet rounds quite a bit, but good things are worth revisiting.

PS: These images are all from Jorge Garcia’s Blog if you haven’t checked it out, you should it’s always a fun read.

PPS: A break dancing Sayid cake would be awesome! I imagine it tasting like Masala Chai and Badassery.

Rad Cake Links: Bacon Cupcakes from The Bleeding Heart Bakery

Bacon cupcakes are everywhere right now, but this is special since the Bacon is on a bed of Peanut Butter Frosting.

Now, dear reader, once while I described to my husband how a Peanut Butter and Marshmallow sandwich tasted he interrupted me to say: “You scare me when you eat Peanut Butter” and after a pause he added “….or Bacon.”

These are from Chicago’s The Bleeding Heart Bakery.

Rad Cake Links: How to Make Moffles, Mochi + Waffles | Serious Eats

By Ms. Cherryspoon | April 16, 2009

Moffles?

They’re waffles made of one of my favorite foods, mochi!

Serious eats describes it as having a “warm chewiness that’s somewhere between a bread and a goo“. Now wait a minute, dear readers, I know probably half of you think that description is not entirely appealing, or perhaps not appealing at all. To me, however, that sounds absolutely heavenly. I think I’ve mentioned my love of mochi before?

Anyways, Cherryspoon HQ boasts none other than Hello Kitty Waffle Maker and I will make some Moffles myself, very soon.
